You Do Not Have to Pay a High Price for a Well-Designed Website

It is quite easy to understand that most people may not have the time to go through
more than just a handful of portfolios, let alone thousands, even millions of web
design studios and freelance web designers to choose from. A quick search of ‘web
designer’ on Google alone can yield 46 million results, before you can even decide
which studio or individual that claims to offer affordable website design services
to take. Sometimes, you may even be tempted to consider one that ‘appears to be
good.’
Confusing Website Costs
What ‘appears to be good’ can turn into a costly-website-nightmare if you are not
cautious. Some of these studios and freelancers who supposedly advertise affordable
web design services actually offer ‘packages’ that surreptitiously contain charges
in exorbitant amount for designing, building and hosting a website. They will give
you a confusing list of bells and whistles – non essential features or enhancements
that does not provide any commensurate functionality and will probably only make
learning and using the application a lot harder. They will provide you with
technical jargon that you have no idea about, to make you believe the cost is worth
it and to justify the so-called ‘affordable’ price they offer.
Is it really Affordable or Ridiculous?
The question of whether you are being charged fairly and squarely, or otherwise, is
especially tough if you do not have sufficient knowledge of what designing and
running a website entails. Some have no inkling that the average website isn’t even
worth the figure that most web design studios charge. Often times, their basis has
nothing to do with the amount of work involved. It is a calculated move based on
their impression of how much you are willing to pay. To a lot of them, that’s
business. And so it doesn’t matter if, to the knowledgeable their offer do sound
ridiculously over-priced; if they can make you pay, it’s good business.
An Insight on What Affordable Web Design Really Is
Businesses gushing promises of affordable web design services are all over in
staggering numbers they can drive you crazy. Did you notice the discrepancies in the
cost that each offers? Don’t they make you wonder how they could differ so much?
First off, the web designer’s level of expertise plays a big factor in determining
the price for web design services; half the time, however, big design studios incur
bigger costs than just the actual work – they have to pay for the salaries of their
employees, spend for advertising and marketing costs, etc. And the harsh truth is
they factor these in when they estimate the price they are going to charge you with.
Now if you compare the big studio’s price versus that of a small team of
freelancers, the price is simply based on just the straightforward cost to cover the
amount of work required to come up with a well-designed website.
So is there a secret to affordable web design? Not really. Just steer clear of large
design studios and stick to small team or individual freelance designers.
